ProsEdit

Match-up Strategy

Assault

The Assault can be nasty with that Assault Rifle at medium range, and he can dodge your sniping and close the gap fast. If he does get too close, or you can see him heading for you, lay a trap and back-peddle for an easy headshot. If that fails, retreat to cover while using your SMG for suppressing fire. Grappling him might not be a bad idea when he's trapped, but be wary of a charge or counter-grapple.

Tank

From afar, a Tank is a sitting duck to a headshot. Up close, you will be nothing but bacon! Keep your distance and pick him off. The SMG may help if he's happy-go-lucky, but don't get too close if you don't want to get burned.

Support

These guys are easy pickins'. They are usually preoccupied with other things, like Firebases, Turrets, Pros or even themselves, so a Sniper should always go for a stealthy headshot to avoid a botched body shot attempt (unless he's weak.) Getting a Firebase-camping Support away from his Firebase is as easy as throwing Flak at the turret or using exploding bullets, or both. Keep your distance if you don't want a shotgun pointed in your direction.

Assassin

Assassins can be as slippery as they can be annoying, but a skilled Sniper can teach them a lesson or two. Laying down Traps can complicate their approach. Level 2 traps will freeze them in place, and level 3 will drain their precious skills, making them completely defenseless. Using Flak to cut off their approach is sometimes a good option, as you can better see them when they try to Cloak. Grapples are also very good on a foolhardy Assassin; level 2 will kill them unless they have an Armour Endorsement, and more importantly knock them away to a much safer distance and potential ring-out. Level 3 will guarantee a kill, but isn't strictly necessary. Combining traps and grapple will make you a much harder target. You can also have some hilarious WTF moments if you can survive a frontal Grapple and then counter Grapple the Assassin.

Gunner

The Gunner can be hit or miss, depends on the situation and Endorsements. If you are in the open or up close, you are like fodder to him. If you can't flee, you have to hold out hope that you can get a headshot at abysmally close range. Exploding bullets can do competitive damage to his minigun. From afar, he's prime for headshot unless he has a level 3 deploy. Even then you should be able to happily kill him with a few long-range body shots, as he's a sitting duck. Keep your distance and most Gunners should pose little to no threat.

Other Snipers can and will fear other snipers, so they will play out just like you do. Most usually take to cover and pick off targets, from their base, so flanking them may not be a bad idea, but other than that, it's a toe to toe situation 90% of the time. GrenADE III Arena, with its high perch at each base, can easily be the site of long-range sniper duels.

BotsEdit

Match-up Strategy

vs Icemen Slim
Slim

Slims are fodder to a skilled Sniper, your level 3 Passive Skill can kill multiple Slims, Traps and Flak can lighten the burden for you.

vs Icemen BlackJack
Black Jack

Black Jacks require 3 direct hits to take down from a fully upgraded Sniper. Lining up penetration shots is also a nice idea, as it gets you more Juice and hits. You can score headshots on Black Jacks to do much higher damage, but to do so you have to hit the glowing eyes on its "face", not just the general head area.

Bouncer

Bouncers can be tricky, but a level 2 Grapple will kill them off easily if all else fails. Traps can help you if you need some breathing room. The headshot hitbox on the Bouncer is the little "stub" it has for a head.

Buzzer

Buzzers are like flying rats to a sniper, use your SMG to take these things out without a problem. Flak is your best friend here.

Gremlin

Gremlins are just about as annoying as Assassins. Use a fully upgraded sniper to take out large packs of them and use flak and traps to take them out swiftly.

vs Icemen Gapshot
Gap Shot

4 or 5 shots and these guys are history. Flak and Grapples help out up close. You can actually headshot Gapshots, just aim for the small circle in the center of its body (the grey region with three lights.)

Scrambler

A simple headshot can and will take these guys out no problem, their large, football shaped head is easy to notice. Trapping works like diamonds but don't get too close if you don't want your skills drained.

vs Icemen Jackbot
Jackbot XL

You can double Grapple as a Sniper, so use this to your advantage. If there is an Assassin that is going to Grapple it, let her use her's first before using yours, as Assassins can finish their Grapple faster than Snipers. Traps and Flak can help in the longer run but the aim here is to kill the Jackbot as quickly as possible. Aiming for the glowing eyes to get headshots can also do a fairly large amount of damage to the Jackbot over time, before you close in for the Grapple or some other technique. Just be careful of enemy pros, when attacking a Jackbot you are a priority target, as your Grapple isn't as mobile as the Assassin's.

TurretsEdit

Match-up Strategy
Hotshot Sniper Portrait

vs Lazer Blazer Level 3 concept art
Lazer Blazer

Take these things out from afar, as they are close range turrets. Use your Flak and SMG up close if you have to.

Hotshot Sniper Portrait

vs RockIt Level 3 concept art
RockIt

Stay very far away from these turrets, they are the most dangerous adn kill can you easily up close. Snipe them whenever you can, it will take a while to kill since it has high armor. Flak and SMG helps up close, but you'll have to wait until the RockIt turret is busy with another target, otherwise you'll get blown to bits.

vs ShaveIce Level 3 concept art
ShaveIce

These things are easy pickins' but they have high armor and will take some effort to kill. Flak works like a charm here, as you can get close enough without getting shot at or slowed down.

Hotshot Sniper Portrait
Sniper
vs Longshot concept art
Long Shot

These things are like fodder, they have lower armor than Lazer Blazers and they can only hit long range. Any sort of medium range attacks should kill it with little effort, and you can also get in close to throw a Flak grenade.
